Dear Educator,
In an effort to present an innovative program that is both fun and educational, Mars 2112, a family restaurant, and EtiquetteOutreach.com (CIS Network Corp.) have developed an “Etiquette for Earthlings” program for students, ages six and up. Conducted by top-notch instructors and waitstaff, the program gives students the opportunity to participate in etiquette-training sessions that will serve them as life-long lessons in character and civility.
The office of Youth Development Department in Region One (Bronx) introduced a similar version of this program in 2005. Originally, it served teachers and administrators who had little prior knowledge of etiquette, in an effort to transmit training to local schools. This year, so that more children may receive this valuable training, Region One provides direct instruction to public-school students at Mars 2112. (See description of classes for different age groups.)
Located on Broadway and 51st Street, Mars 2112 is an ideal location for a program that addresses modern etiquette issues — conflict resolution, character-building, fundamentals of civil behavior — in a fun, supportive, and family-friendly environment. Students are engaged, while also learning very important life skills. Our etiquette discussions cover first impressions, introductions, handling peer pressure, developing a strong character, knowing what to do in any social setting, responding to an invitation, writing a thank-you note after a job interview, do’s and don’ts of dining, and more! All classes are conducted in the morning from 10:30 a.m. — 12:30 p.m. at Mars 2112, 1633 Broadway at 51st Street.

At the end of each class, students are rewarded with complimentary 30-minute game cards for use in the arcade of Mars 2112. A bullet-point summary of each class is offered to students as a take-home handout.
