1. Introductory Etiquette and Basic Dining Skills
This class is intended to heighten students’ awareness and appreciation of basic table manners and dining skills in the context of their daily lives. The goal is to introduce all basic elements: history of etiquette, proper introductions, handshake, basic telephone skills, table-setting chart, tableware, utensils, use of a napkin, different dining styles (American and European), “resting and finished positions” and an entertaining etiquette quiz on do’s and don’ts of table manners.
Recommended to all beginners. Length: 60 minutes.
Audience size: 25 – 60 participants.
2. Character-Building and Behavior Modification
This is the second class in basic behavioral skills which introduces the building blocks of character, appropriate behavior, public conduct, and advanced dining skills: host/hostess’ responsibilities, posture and appearance, group introductions, table manners, different types of handshake, first impression, invitations, thank-you notes, do’s and don’ts of dining, cell phone etiquette, e-mail etiquette and more.
Recommended for students as a follow-up class to Introductory Etiquette. Length: 60 minutes. Audience size: 25 – 60 participants.
3. Business, Leadership, and Dining Skills for Teens
Business and leadership skills are essential for success. These skills are greatly needed when applying for summer jobs, summer internships, new school interviews, etc.
The content was created to teach participants the fundamentals of leadership skills: responsibility, civil public behavior, goal-setting, first impression, first resume, interview, appropriate attire, power of handshaking, grown-up conduct, cell phone etiquette, school etiquette, dining etiquette, use of utensils, follow-up letters, and overall dining skills.
Recommended for students, ages 11 and up. It’s a Power Point presentation. Length: 90 minutes. Audience size: 35-75 participants.
4. Special Occasion and Graduation Etiquette
Students learn what to expect and how to behave at any social event with parents or friends – graduations, weddings, bar and bat mitzvahs, first communions, anniversaries. Included are formal invitations, R.S.V.P., formal table setting, name cards, gift giving, receiving line, menu, toasting, do’s and don’ts of special occasions.
Recommended for all ages. It’s a Power Point Presentation. Audience size: 35 students. Length: 90 minutes.
5. Developing Social and Emotional Growth through Etiquette Instruction
In the fun, relaxing environment of a tea party, children practice their “occasion-appropriate” behavior and learn new social skills, basic etiquette, proper introductions, and role-playing (how to be a hostess, how to plan and serve tea party fare, how to be a well-mannered and grateful guest, etc.)This class is recommended for young ladies and gentlemen, ages 6 and up.
All classes are filled with Q/A games, activities, etiquette puzzles, and discussions. Students learn incremental steps toward self-confidence and know-how in every fun-filled session.
Audience: 30 participants. Length: 45 minutes
